NOTICE is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday,
December 9, 2024, 4:00 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas,
for the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the right to
retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered
necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
Members of the public can participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Citizens may join
the Zoom Meeting by clicking on the Virtual Council Meeting https link on the City of Nederland’s
website or calling the Zoom Call in Number and entering the Meeting ID# on the City of
Nederland’s website.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS. Citizens may provide comments regarding the
items listed on the Consent or Regular Agenda. Citizens shall raise their hand to be recognized by
the Mayor and will address the City Council from the podium after providing their name and
address. Comments shall not exceed three minutes.

3. CONSENT AGENDA—All consent agenda items listed are considered to be routine by the
City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these
items unless a councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the
Consent agenda and considered separately.
a. Minutes – November 18, 2024 regular meeting
b. Consider action authorizing the closure of 21st Street from Detroit Avenue to Nederland
Avenue, Detroit Avenue from 17th Street to 21st Street, Nederland Ave from 21st Street to
12th Street, 12th Street from Nederland Avenue to Boston Avenue, and Boston Avenue
from 12th Street to 17th Street on Monday, December 9th for the Nederland Chamber of
Commerce’s Annual Lighted Christmas Parade.
c. Consider action authorizing the closure of South 20th Street between Avenue A and
Avenue B through December 31st for Nederland First Baptist Church’s Christmas
activities.
4. REGULAR AGENDA
a. Consider action approving the 2025 Holiday Observances calendar.
b. Consider action approving Resolution No. 2024-16, authorizing the City of Nederland’s
participation in the Texas Attorney General’s Opioid Settlement – Kroger Texas
Settlement Agreement.
c. Discussion and possible action regarding the City of Nederland’s Coronavirus Local
Fiscal Recovery Fund allocation – request from Nederland Independent School District.

d. Discussion and possible action regarding proposed Change Order No. 2 – 2024 HMAC
(hot mix overlay) Program.
e. Consider action approving Ordinance No. 2024-33, amending the fiscal year 2024-2025
budget.
f. Consider action engaging Landmark Aquatic via state-approved contract for the
Nederland Swimming Pool Rehabilitation/Improvements project.
