10-06-2025 Agenda SPECIAL NEDERLAND CITY COUNCIL AGENDA NOTICE is hereby given of a special meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, 5:00 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas, for the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the right to retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551. 1. Darby, Mayor City of Nederland, Texas ATTEST: Joni Underwood, City Clerk City of Nederland, Texas “PURSUANT TO SECTION 30.07, PENAL CODE (TRESPASS BY LICENSE HOLDER WITH AN OPENLY CARRIED HANDGUN), A PERSON LICENSED UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411, GOVERNMENT CODE (HANDGUN LICENSING LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THIS PROPERTY WITH A HANDGUN THAT IS CARRIED OPENLY” "CONFORME A LA SECCIÓN 30.07, DEL CÓDIGO PENAL (ENTRADA SIN AUTORIZACIÓN POR TITULAR DE LICENCIA CON UNA PISTOLA VISIBLE), UNA PERSONA CON LICENCIA BAJO EL SUBCAPÍTULO H, CAPÍTULO 411 DEL CÓDIGO DE GOBIERNO (LEY DE LICENCIAS DE PISTOLAS), NO PUEDE ENTRAR EN ESTA PROPIEDAD CON UNA PISTOLA VISIBLE” RESOLUTION NO. 2025-15 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEDERLAND, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A STATE HOMELAND SECURITY PROGRAM GRANT APPLICATION WHEREAS, the Nederland City Council has determined this project to be a high priority activity in the region; and WHEREAS, The Nederland City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Nederland, Texas that the Terrorism Prevention Project 2026 be operated for 2025; and WHEREAS, The Nederland City Council agrees that in the event of loss, misuse of the Office of Governor funds, the Nederland City Council assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full; and WHEREAS, the Nederland City Council designates Rod Carroll, Chief of Police, as the grantee’s authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency. WHEREAS, the Nederland City Council deems it necessary to apply for SHSP and UASI – Supporting Border Crisis Response and Enforcement Projects (HSGP-BC), FFY 2025 grant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEDERLAND, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The Nederland Police Department is authorized to submit a State Homeland Security Program grant application in the amount of $50,0000. Section 2. That the Nederland City Council approves submission of the grant application for the Terrorism Prevention Project 2025 to the Office of the Governor.
