July 6, 2026 BUDGET WORKSHOP WORKSHOP OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEDERLAND
5:30 pm July 6, 2026
1. MEETING
The workshop was called to order at 5:30 pm by Mayor Jeff Darby at the Marion and
Ed Hughes Public Library, 2712 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, Texas. See attached
for quorum.
2. PROPOSED BUDGET
Manny De La Rosa, City Manager, stated that each department will present their
accomplishments, goals, and future needs to the Council relative to budgeting.
Following each presentation, Mr. De La Rosa reviewed the proposed 2026-2027
budget for that department. The schedule was as follows:
Fire/Emergency Management 5:40 pm to 6:04 pm
Library 6:04 pm to 6:20 pm
Information Technology 6:20 pm to 6:36 pm
Police, Dispatch, Animal Control 6:46 pm to 7:06 pm
City Manager, City Clerk 7:06 pm to 7:29 pm
Finance, Utility Billing 7:29 pm to 7:50 pm
Discussion and wrap up 7:50 pm to 8:09 pm
A discussion was held after each department presentation.
3. ADJOURN
There being no further discussion the Workshop was adjourned at 8:09 pm by Mayor
Jeff Darby.
