1_ MEETING
The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by Mayor Nugent at the Nederland City
Office Building, 207 N. 12th Street, Nederland, Texas. See attached for quorum.
The following statement was posted:
'PURSUANT TO SECTION 30.07, PENAL CODE (TRESPASS BY LICENSE HOLDER
WITH AN OPENLY CARRIED HANUGUN), A PERSON LICENSED UNDER
SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411, GOVERNMENT CODE (HANDGUN LICENSING
LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THZS PROPERTY WITH A FiANDGIJN THAT IS CARRIED
OPENLY."
2. INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance were led by Gay Ferguson, City Clerk.
3. CONSENT AGENDA - All consent agenda items listed are considered to be routine by
the City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate
discussion of these items unless a councilmen-viper so requests, in which event the item
will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered separately.
A motion was made by Councilmember 13elaire and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem
Albanese to approve the Consent Agenda Items a-c as presented. MOTION
CARRIED.
Ayes: Mayor Nugent, Councilmembers Austin, Neal, Albanese, and 13elaire.
Noes: None.

b. April 2017 Ciepartmental Reports
c. Consider action authorizing the closure of various City streets and the use of Tex
Ritter Park for the 2018 Relay for Life event.
4_ REGULAR AGENDA
a_ A motion was made by Councilmember Neal and seconded by Councilmember
Austin to approve a proclamation recognizing the Nederland Westernaires_
MOTION CARRIED.
Ayes: Mayor Nugent, Councilmembers Austin, Neal, Albanese, and 13elaire.
Nees: None.

b. A motion was made by Councilmember Belaire and seconded by Councilmember
Austin to approve a Premium Conversion and Health Savings Account Contribution
Plan. MOTION CARRIED.
Ayes: Mayor Nugent, Councilmembers Austin, Neal, Albanese, and Belaire.
Noes: None.
5. COMMUNICATION:
City Manager's Report:
• Memorial Day program - Monday, May 29th at 4:30 p.m.
• City offices will be closed Monday, May 29th - Observance of Memorial
Day
6. ADJOURN
There being no further business a motion was made by Mayor Nugent and
seconded by Councilmember Austin to adjourn the meeting at 4:45 p.m. MOTION
CARRIED.
