Mr. Duque stated it would minimize interruptions to the numerous businesses in the area and it would save money by combining the Hodgson Road project with the Bourque Road project. He suggested utilizing city funds to finance the project now rather than postposing the project until 2021 or later. Last summer the city began to receive numerous complaints regarding the lack of maintenance of the property. Efforts to contact Babe Ruth board members were unsuccessful. Staff became aware the League lacked a board of directors. Currently staff and community leaders are attempting to re-organize the board of directors. There are outstanding utility bills, which include the City of Nederland, on this property. Mr. Duque said if the League can show their non-profit status remains in effect and they can provide insurance, the City would need to update the agreement for the lease of the property.
