AGENDA
NOTICE is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday,
November 22, 2021, 4:30 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland,
Texas, for the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the
right to retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered
necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
This meeting will be OPEN to in-person attendance by the public; however due to the spacing
restrictions in the City Council Chamber, masks are encouraged. The City will continue to provide
citizens an alternative method to attend and participate in City Council meetings. Members of the
public can participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Citizens may join the Zoom Meeting
by clicking on the Virtual Council Meeting https link on the City of Nederland’s website or calling
the Zoom Call in Number and entering the Meeting ID# on the City of Nederland’s website.

3. CONSENT AGENDA—All consent agenda items listed are considered to be routine by the
City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these
items unless a councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the
Consent agenda and considered separately.

c. Tax Assessor Collection Report – October 2021
d. Consider action authorizing the closure of S. 20th Street between Avenue A and Avenue
B on November 27th through December 31st for the First Baptist Church Christmas
activities.
4. REGULAR AGENDA
a. Consider action appointing Dylan Fairly to the Planning & Zoning Commission.
b. Receive the Quarterly Investment Report from the Finance Department.
c. Consider action approving final payment and release of retainage for the “South 6th Street
Water Main Improvements” project.
d. Consider action approving Change Order No. 1 – 2020-2021 Concrete Pavement
Rehabilitation project.
e. Consider action approving final payment and release of retainage for the “2020-2021
Concrete Pavement Rehabilitation” project.
f. Consider action authorizing the solicitation of bids for the “Storm Sewer Improvements
(17th Street & Avenue N) – Allen Meadows Subdivision” project.

g. Consider action approving Ordinance No. 2021-20, abandoning two alleyways (0.1168
acre of land adjacent of Lots 19 & 20, Blk 23 Town of Nederland) and retaining certain
easements.
h. Consider action approving a Purchase and Sale Agreement between the City of Nederland
and the Nederland Economic Development Corporation in regard to the sale of two
alleyways (0.1168 acre of land adjacent of Lots 19 & 20, Blk 23 Town of Nederland), for
future economic development.
i. Consider action approving Resolution No. 2021-32, authorizing the City Manager to
execute closing and title documents for the sale of two alleyways (0.1168 acre of land
adjacent of Lots 19 & 20, Blk 23 Town of Nederland) to the Nederland Economic
Development Corporation.
j. Consider action approving the Intergovernmental Contract between the City of Nederland
and Jefferson County for jail fees.
