NEDERLAND CITY COUNCIL
AGENDA
NOTICE is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday,
February 14, 2022, 4:30 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas,
for the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the right to
retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered
necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
This meeting will be OPEN to in-person attendance by the public; however due to the spacing
restrictions in the City Council Chamber, masks are encouraged. The City will continue to provide
citizens an alternative method to attend and participate in City Council meetings. Members of the
public can participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Citizens may join the Zoom Meeting
by clicking on the Virtual Council Meeting https link on the City of Nederland’s website or calling
the Zoom Call in Number and entering the Meeting ID# on the City of Nederland’s website.

3. CONSENT AGENDA—All consent agenda items listed are considered to be routine by the
City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these
items unless a councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the
Consent agenda and considered separately.
a. Minutes – January 24, 2022 regular meeting
b. Consider action authorizing the Jefferson County Mosquito Control District to fly at low
altitudes as required for the application of pesticides for the control of mosquitoes within
the City limits of Nederland.
c. Consider action regarding a request from Jillian Hunt to hold a “Goat Yoga” event at
Doornbos Park on Sunday, November 6th.
4. REGULAR AGENDA
a. Conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving comments regarding the
rehabilitation or condemnation and demolition of an abandoned and/or dilapidated
structure at the following address: 215 23rd Street (Lot 9, Block 5, Hilltop Addition).
b. Discussion and possible action regarding the rehabilitation or condemnation and
demolition of the abandoned and/or dilapidated structure at the following address: 215
23rd Street (Lot 9, Block 5, Hilltop Addition).
c. Conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving comments regarding the
rehabilitation or condemnation and demolition of an abandoned and/or dilapidated
structure at the following address: 1620 Avenue C (Lot 20, C. Doornbos Addition).
d. Discussion and possible action regarding the rehabilitation or condemnation and
demolition of the abandoned and/or dilapidated structure at the following address: 1620
Avenue C (Lot 20, C. Doornbos Addition).

e. Discussion and possible action regarding the acceptance of the Boston Avenue Arch.
f. Receive the Nederland Historical Society’s 2021 financial report.
g. Receive the Quarterly Investment Report from the Finance Department.
h. Consider action approving Ordinance No. 2022-04, amending the fiscal year 2021-2022
budget.
i. Bids/Purchases:
i. Consider action authorizing the solicitation of bids for “Water Inventory Items.”
ii. Consider action authorizing the installation of new flooring at the Homer E. Nagel
Public Safety Complex.
iii. Consider action authorizing the solicitation of bids for new flooring at the Marion
& Ed Hughes Public Library.
iv. Consider action authorizing a Request for Proposals for the Operation and
Maintenance of the Nederland Swimming Pool.
v. Consider action regarding the Request for Proposals for Windstorm Insurance.
j. Discussion and possible action regarding the City of Nederland Non-Profit Partnership
Grant Program.
5. EXECUTIVE SESSION (No Public Discussion on These Items)
The City Council will announce that it will go into Executive Session, pursuant to Chapter 551
of the Texas Government Code, to discuss matters as specifically listed on the agenda, or as
authorized by law.
