2. APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING
Alex Rupp made a motion to approve the previous meeting’s minutes. Jason Butler
seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
3. DISCUSSION/POSSIBLE ACTION
a. Discussion regarding current and proposed park repairs and improvements.
Angela Fanette stated that the pool deck project repair is in progress. Maintenance
and repairs will be required prior to opening the pool next season. Tex Ritter lighting
project will be rebid. We have contacted Entergy for security lighting. An eagle scout
will be doing a project including sanding and painting the gazebo at Tex Ritter and
building two trash receptacles that will be put at Croppo and 5th street park. An
inclusive playground planned, we are awaiting feedback from NISD and ASK. Parking
lot repairs will be done by Public Works at the recreation center and pool parking
areas. There will be a public hearing and comments for the half-court basketball
court at Croppo on October 24, 2022. No action was needed.
b. Discussion regarding upcoming park programming.
Monsters in the Park was Friday, October 14, 2022 and National Night Out was on
Tuesday, October 4, 2022. We had successful turnouts for both events and looking
at doing some improvements on both for the future. Christmas on the Avenue
vendor spaces opened on October 18, 2022 and we have around 50 vendors signed
up. We are going to have PopGun! play at Christmas on the Avenue this year. No
action was needed.
c. Discussion/possible action regarding changes to parks ordinances.
Angela Fanette stated review of ordinance and pricing is necessary for pool pricing to
remain in line with Texas Parks and Wildlife guidelines. Another ordinance addition is
the department will issue IDs for minor usage. The initial ID is free and if the ID is lost or
stolen there will be an $8 fee to process a new ID. Alex Rupp stated that we should
consider doing the IDs as a seasonal issuance identified by color instead of by a year
from registration. No action was taken.

a. Miscellaneous:
None.
