1. MEETING
The meeting was held July 20, 2016 at the City of Nederland Recreation Center at 2301
Avenue H, Nederland, Texas and was called to order by Sylvia Root.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Sylvia Root, Alex Rupp, Stephanie Gallagher, Marty Byrd via phone
MEMBERS ABSENT: Brian Gentile
CITY STAFF PRESENT: Angela Fanette, Parks and Recreation Director
2. APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING
Stephanie Gallagher made a motion to approve the previous meeting’s minutes. Marty
Byrd seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
3. DISCUSSION/POSSIBLE ACTION:
a. Discussion/possible action regarding an agreement with Adaptive Sports for
Kids.
Angela Fanette presented a lease agreement for usage for Adaptive Sports for
Kids for recommendation to the board. The lease agreement would allow usage
for 25 years for a baseball field and related facilities on property at 2301 Avenue
H at Doornbos Park. After much discussion, Marty Byrd made a motion to
recommend to City Council to approve the agreement. Stephanie Gallagher
seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
4. COMMUNICATION
a. Miscellaneous.
Angela Fanette reported that the July 4th Fireworks show went well and that fall
programming would be discussed at the next board meeting.
5. ADJOURN
There being no other business, Marty Byrd made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Alex
Rupp seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. The meeting concluded at
12:20 pm.
