NEDERLAND CITY COUNCIL
AGENDA
NOTICE is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday,
May 9, 2022, 4:30 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas, for
the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the right to
retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered
necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
This meeting will be OPEN to in-person attendance by the public; however due to the spacing
restrictions in the City Council Chamber, masks are encouraged. The City will continue to provide
citizens an alternative method to attend and participate in City Council meetings. Members of the
public can participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Citizens may join the Zoom Meeting
by clicking on the Virtual Council Meeting https link on the City of Nederland’s website or calling
the Zoom Call in Number and entering the Meeting ID# on the City of Nederland’s website.

3. CONSENT AGENDA—All consent agenda items listed are considered to be routine by the
City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these
items unless a councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the
Consent agenda and considered separately.
a. Minutes – April 18, 2022 regular meeting
b. Consider action regarding a request from the West Orange-Cove Consolidated
Independent School District for West Orange Stark Middle School to utilize Doornbos
Park for a school picnic.
c. Consider action regarding a request from Port Neches Groves Independent School District
to utilize Doornbos Park for a school field trip.
4. REGULAR AGENDA
a. Consider action regarding the bid for “Water Inventory Items.”
b. Consider action approving the purchase of two police patrol units via state-approved
contract.
c. Discussion and possible action regarding the rehabilitation or condemnation and
demolition of the abandoned and/or dilapidated structure at the following address: 215
23rd Street (Lot 9, Block 5, Hilltop Addition).
d. Employee Group Benefits:
i. Recess the meeting of the City of Nederland City Council to convene a meeting of
the City of Nederland Employee Benefits Trust to award bids for employee group
benefits.
ii. Reconvene the meeting of the City of Nederland City Council.

iii. Consider action authorizing the transfer of funds from the City of Nederland to the
City of Nederland Employee Benefits Trust to pay for employee-related benefits.
