NOTICE is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday,
June 13, 2022, 4:30 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas, for
the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the right to
retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered
necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
This meeting will be OPEN to in-person attendance by the public; however due to the spacing
restrictions in the City Council Chamber, masks are encouraged. The City will continue to provide
citizens an alternative method to attend and participate in City Council meetings. Members of the
public can participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Citizens may join the Zoom Meeting
by clicking on the Virtual Council Meeting https link on the City of Nederland’s website or calling
the Zoom Call in Number and entering the Meeting ID# on the City of Nederland’s website.

3. CONSENT AGENDA—All consent agenda items listed are considered to be routine by the
City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these
items unless a councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the
Consent agenda and considered separately.
a. Minutes – May 23, 2022 regular meeting
4. REGULAR AGENDA
a. Presentation by the Lower Neches Valley Authority regarding their request to abandon
various City streets.
b. Receive the quarterly Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund financial report from the Nederland
Chamber of Commerce.
c. Bids/Purchases:
i. Consider action authorizing the solicitation of Requests for Proposals for Bank
Depository Services.
ii. Consider action engaging C.T. Bannon Corporation for engineering services related
to the Doornbos Park Pond Wall Stabilization project.
iii. Consider action authorizing the solicitation of bids for the Lighting Project at Tex
Ritter Park.
iv. Consider action authorizing the solicitation of bids for the Water Main Repairs at
the FM 365 and DD7 Crossing project.
d. Consider action amending Ordinance No. 2015-14, revising Chapter 110. Vehicles for
Hire of the Nederland Code of Ordinances.

e. Consider action approving Ordinance No. 2022-15, abandoning a portion of an alleyway
and conveying such alleyway to the religious organization known as Apostolic
Tabernacle, Inc.
f. Discussion and possible action regarding Ordinance No. 2022-06, Tree Clearance
Ordinance.
5. EXECUTIVE SESSION (No Public Discussion on These Items)
The City Council will announce that it will go into Executive Session, pursuant to Chapter 551
of the Texas Government Code, to discuss matters as specifically listed on the agenda, or as
authorized by law.

Discuss Personnel Appointments: City Clerk, Director of Finance, Police Chief,
and City Attorney
6. RECONVENE
Reconvene into regular session and discuss and take action, if any, on items discussed in
Executive Session.
7. APPOINTMENT
a. Consider action authorizing the appointment of the City Clerk, Director of Finance, Police
Chief, and City Attorney in accordance with the City Charter.
b. Consider setting the monthly compensation of the City Attorney and City Judge.
