NOTICE is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday,
July 11, 2022, 4:30 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas, for
the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the right to
retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered
necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
This meeting will be OPEN to in-person attendance by the public; however due to the spacing
restrictions in the City Council Chamber, masks are encouraged. The City will continue to provide
citizens an alternative method to attend and participate in City Council meetings. Members of the
public can participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Citizens may join the Zoom Meeting
by clicking on the Virtual Council Meeting https link on the City of Nederland’s website or calling
the Zoom Call in Number and entering the Meeting ID# on the City of Nederland’s website.

3. CONSENT AGENDA—All consent agenda items listed are considered to be routine by the
City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these
items unless a councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the
Consent agenda and considered separately.
a. Minutes – June 27, 2022 regular meeting
b. Consider action setting a Public Hearing date (Monday, July 25th at 4:30PM) to receive
comments in regard to the Lower Neches Valley Authority’s request to close a portion of
Detroit Avenue and North 1st Street near FM 366 for a canal improvement project.
4. REGULAR AGENDA
a. Receive comments from Jeff Darby regarding the City’s compliance with Section 5.02 of
the City Charter.
b. Consider action approving a Proclamation recognizing “National Parks and Recreation
Month.”
c. Consider action appointing Lance Howell to the Planning & Zoning Commission.
d. Consider action approving Ordinance No. 2022-17, amending the fiscal year 2021-2022
budget.
e. Consider action awarding bid for the Water Main Repairs at the FM 365 and DD7
Crossing project.
