01-09-2023 AgendaNEDERLAND CITY COUNCIL AGENDA NOTICE is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, 4:30 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas, for the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the right to retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551. This meeting will be OPEN to in-person attendance by the public; however due to the spacing restrictions in the City Council Chamber, masks are encouraged. The City will continue to provide citizens an alternative method to attend and participate in City Council meetings. Members of the public can participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Citizens may join the Zoom Meeting by clicking on the Virtual Council Meeting https link on the City of Nederland’s website or calling the Zoom Call in Number and entering the Meeting ID# on the City of Nederland’s website. 1. Minutes – December 19, 2022 regular meeting and December 14, 2022 joint special meeting 4. REGULAR AGENDA a. Consider action approving a Proclamation recognizing Eagle Scout Boden McComber. b. Recognition of City of Nederland employees who responded to the December 2022 winter storm emergency. c. Recognize the Nederland Finance Department for receiving the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. d. Conduct a Joint Public Hearing for the purpose of receiving comments regarding the request to re-zone property located at the northwest corner of Highway 69 frontage road and the private access road known as Parkway Road, described as Tract II, 1.3295 acres of land being part of Lots 2&3, Block 20, Range I of Port Arthur Land Company from property zoned I-1 (light industrial) to R-3 (multi-family medium density) for the construction of apartments. e. Consider action authorizing the solicitation of bids for the 2023 Concrete Street Rehabilitation project. g. Consider action approving Resolution No. 2022-11, ratifying the action of the Nederland Economic Development Corporation’s Board of Directors in regard to the purchase of 219 Twin City Highway and 1118 Atlanta Avenue. 5.
