PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
MINUTES
5:00 P.M. December 6, 2022
1. MEETING
The meeting was held Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the City of Nederland D.
Bob Henson Office Building, 1903 Atlanta Avenue, Nederland, Texas and was
called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Scott Watjus.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Scott Watjus, Mark Byars, and Dylan Fairley
MEMBERS ABSENT: Alex Rupp and Lance Howell
CITY STAFF PRESENT: George Wheeler, Chief Building Official and Beth
Merren, Inspections Department Secretary
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Mark Byars and seconded by Dylan Fairley to approve the
minutes of the November 8, 2022 meeting. All voted aye.
3. ZONING
Discussion on a request to consider proposed amendment to the Zoning
Ordinance Section 13.2 "Schedule of Permitted Uses" for Massage Therapist —
Licensed and creating a new Section 14.8 for establishing regulations and
enforcement of massage establishments through a specific use permit
requirement. After a full discussion a motion was made by Mark Byars and
seconded by Dylan Fairley to recommend proposed amendment to City Council

4. COMMUNICATIONS
None.
5. ADJOURN
There being no other business a motion was made by Dylan Fairley and seconded
by Mark Byars to adjourn the meeting at 5:15 p.m. All voted aye.
