NOTICE is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday,
June 26, 2023, 4:30 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas, for
the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the right to
retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered
necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
Members of the public can participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Citizens may join
the Zoom Meeting by clicking on the Virtual Council Meeting https link on the City of Nederland’s
website or calling the Zoom Call in Number and entering the Meeting ID# on the City of
Nederland’s website.

3. CONSENT AGENDA—All consent agenda items listed are considered to be routine by the
City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these
items unless a councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the
Consent agenda and considered separately.

c. Tax Assessor Collection Report – May 2023
4. REGULAR AGENDA
a. Receive comments from Albert Garcia regarding the lack of garbage service in Pirates
Cove.
b. Consider action approving Summer 2023 Pool Season coupons for NISD summer
recreation participants.
c. Consider action approving Resolution No. 2023-13, ratifying the action of the Nederland
Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors related to the incentive offered
to Hatton Homes.
d. Appointments:
i. Consider action re-appointing Gary Tiner to the Civil Service Commission.
ii. Consider action re-appointing Emmett Hollier to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
iii. Consider action re-appointing Steve Gentile, Ron Minaldi, and Boyd Meier to the
Construction Appeals Board.
iv. Consider action appointing Kasey Taylor to the Nederland Economic Development
Corporation Board of Directors.
e. Consider action approving an Agreement to provide fire protection services to the
Industrial Safety Training Council.

f. Receive update regarding the Hill Terrace/Hilldale & Nederland Avenue Drainage
Improvements project.
g. Consider action approving Ordinance No. 2023-15, amending the fiscal year 2022-2023
budget.
h. Consider action awarding bid for the 2023 HMAC Street Rehabilitation project.
5. EXECUTIVE SESSION (No Public Discussion on These Items)
The City Council will announce that it will go into Executive Session, pursuant to Chapter 551
of the Texas Government Code, to discuss matters as specifically listed on the agenda, or as
authorized by law.

Discuss Personnel Appointments: City Clerk, Director of Finance, Police Chief,
City Attorney, and City Judge
6. RECONVENE
Reconvene into regular session and discuss and take action, if any, on items discussed in
Executive Session.
7. APPOINTMENT
a. Consider action authorizing the appointment of the City Clerk, Director of Finance, Police
Chief, City Attorney, and City Judge in accordance with the City Charter.
b. Consider setting the monthly compensation of the City Attorney and City Judge.
c. Consider action approving the Agreement for Interim Finance Director Services by and
between the City of Nederland and Strategic Government Resources.
