MEETING
June 13, 2023
The meeting was held June 13, 2023, at the City of Nederland D. Bob Henson
Office Building, 1903 Atlanta Avenue, Nederland, Texas and was called to order
at 5:00 p.m. by George Wheeler.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Michael Whitehead, Paul Hussey, and Kevin Smith
MEMBERS ABSENT: Emmett Hollier and Mike Louvier
CITY STAFF PRESENT: George Wheeler, Chief Building Official and Beth
Merren, Inspections Department Secretary
OTHERS PRESENT: Jose Gonzalez
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Kevin Smith and seconded by Paul Hussey to approve the
minutes of the March 14, 2023 meeting. All voted aye.
VARIANCES
a. Jose and Adriana Gonzalez, owners of the property located at 7700 Gayle
Lane, described as Lot 6, Block 2, Tract 6, Smith -Hodgson -Bigelow Addition
requested a variance to the City of Nederland Zoning Ordinance, Section 11.4,
R-1, Single Family Residential, for the placement of a travel trailer on their
property during the construction of a new home. After a full discussion, a
motion was made by Paul Hussey and seconded by Kevin Smith to approve
the variance for one year. All voted aye.
