NOTICE is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday,
August 28, 2023, 4:30 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas,
for the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the right to
retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered
necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
Members of the public can participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Citizens may join
the Zoom Meeting by clicking on the Virtual Council Meeting https link on the City of Nederland’s
website or calling the Zoom Call in Number and entering the Meeting ID# on the City of
Nederland’s website.

3. CONSENT AGENDA—All consent agenda items listed are considered to be routine by the
City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these
items unless a councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the
Consent agenda and considered separately.

c. Tax Assessor Collection Report – July 2023
d. Consider action regarding a request from Brian English to utilize the Nederland
Recreation Center gymnasium for a basketball league.
4. REGULAR AGENDA
a. Receive the Quarterly Investment Report from the Finance Department.
b. Consider action approving Resolution No. 2023-16, authorizing participation in the Pace
Purchasing Cooperative Program.
c. Consider action engaging Sky Wonder Pyrotechnics, LLC for the 2024 July 4th Fireworks
Extravaganza event.
d. Consider action authorizing the solicitation of bids for the “Tex Ritter Park Lighting”
project.
e. Consider action authorizing the purchase of two sludge transfer pumps for the Wastewater
Treatment Plant.
f. Consider action approving Change Order No. 2 – Hodgson Road Lift Station
Rehabilitation project.
g. Consider action approving final payment and release of retainage for the Hodgson Road
Lift Station Rehabilitation project.
h. Consider action amending the 2022-2023 Wage & Classification Plan.

i. Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Budget:
i. Conduct a Public Hearing for the purpose of receiving comments regarding the
proposed City of Nederland Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Budget.
ii. Conduct a Public Hearing for the purpose of receiving comments regarding the
proposed tax rate of $0.467607 per $100 assessed taxable value for the Fiscal
Year 2023-2024.
