MEETING
August 15, 2023
The meeting was held August 15, 2023, at the City of Nederland D. Bob Henson
Office Building, 1903 Atlanta Avenue, Nederland, Texas and was called to order
at 5:00 p.m. by the Chairman.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Emmett Hollier, Michael Whitehead, and Paul
Hussey
MEMBERS ABSENT: Kevin Smith and Mike Louvier
CITY STAFF PRESENT: George Wheeler, Chief Building Official and Beth
Merren, Inspections Department Secretary
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Paul Hussey and seconded by Michael Whitehead to
approve the minutes of the June 13, 2023 meeting. All voted aye.
VARIANCES
a. Siarhei and Tatsiana Mahuchy, owners of the property located at 211 South
12th Street, described as Lots 11 and 12 of J Doornbos Addition requested a
variance to the City of Nederland Zoning Ordinance, Section 12.2, "Schedule
of area regulations" to construct a duplex on each 70' wide lot with each lot
being 10' less than the minimum lot width of 80' required by Section 12.2.
After a full discussion, a motion was made by Paul Hussey and seconded by
Michael Whitehead to deny the variance. All voted aye.
COMMUNICATIONS
Discussion on Food Truck Committee proposed by City Council at the August 15,
2023 meeting.
5. ADJOURN
There being no other business a motion was made by Paul Hussey and seconded
by Michael Whitehead to adjourn the meeting at 5:25 p.m. All voted aye.
