NOTICE is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Nederland City Council to be held on Monday,
January 22, 2024, 4:30 p.m., at the Nederland City Hall, 207 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas,
for the purpose of considering the following agenda items. The City Council reserves the right to
retire into Executive Session concerning any of the agenda items whenever it is considered
necessary and legally justified pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
Members of the public can participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Citizens may join
the Zoom Meeting by clicking on the Virtual Council Meeting https link on the City of Nederland’s
website or calling the Zoom Call in Number and entering the Meeting ID# on the City of
Nederland’s website.

City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these

d. Consider action authorizing the closure of Boston Avenue between 15th Street and 17th
Street for the Nederland Rotary Club’s Easter event.
4. REGULAR AGENDA
a. Consider action re-appointing Alex Rupp, Jason Butler, and Paul Hussey to the Parks
Advisory Board.
b. Consider action authorizing the Jefferson County Mosquito Control District to fly at low
altitudes as required for the application of pesticides for the control of mosquitoes within
the City limits of Nederland.
c. Consider action re-authorizing the City of Nederland Spay and Neuter Program.
d. Consider action approving Work Authorization with Westwood Professional Services,
Inc. for an updated “traffic study” of the Helena Avenue and 27th Street intersection.
e. Consider action approving Change Order No. 1 – City of Nederland 2023 HMAC Street
Program.
f. Consider action approving final payment and release of retainage for the City of
Nederland 2023 HMAC Street Program.
g. Consider action approving Ordinance No. 2024-02, amending the fiscal year 2023-2024
budget.
h. Consider action awarding bid for the “Tex Ritter Park Lighting” project.
